Description

One of our most popular plants due to its ease of care, Anubias barteri var. nana is a beautiful freshwater aquarium plant that can even flower under water. Whether you are looking to transition from plastic plants to real plants, having trouble with aquatic plants, or just want to add some natural coverage to your aquarium, SubstrateSource 'Nana' is the way to go.

Where many plants would suffer with minimal light, Anubias barteri var. nana would do well. The robust, leathery leaves also make the plant a great option for aquariums that house fish notoriously known to destroy plants (e.g. goldfish and cichlids).

Minimalists can eliminate substrate from their aquarium because Anubias sp. do not need it. The species prefers to grow on driftwood and stones, where its rhizome can be left fully exposed. Simply use trying thread, which can be removed once the plant has rooted itself, to attach your plant on hardscape.

Great plant. Extremely hardy and came in great condition. When I removed the rockwool, I was pleasantly surprised to find 2 portions. Would definitely purchase again.

This plant arrived on the opposite side of the country in record time and in perfect health! I tied it to a piece of riverwood and it is beautiful! Thanks, SS!
